Valuing Diversity in is an introductory program that assists people to understand the purposes and processes of valuing the diversity of people for the creating of effective partnerships.
The one-day program is for employees of government, business and community organizations and members of the community and can be customised for a specific organization. It includes the following topics:
Topic 1: Meaning of Diversity
Introduction of the meaning of diversity and how it relates to the recognition and valuing of differences in people.
Topic 2: Purposes and Features of Effective Partnerships
Introduction of the purposes and features of effective partnerships.
Topic 3: Value of Diversity in Effective Partnerships
Introduction of the value of diversity of people in effective partnerships.
Topic 4: Creating Effective Partnerships that Value Diversity
Introduction of the processes for creating effective partnerships that value the diversity of people and their strengths in terms of their abilities, knowledge, skills, attitudes, culture, personalities, and experience.
Topic 5: Creating Effective Partnerships with Culturally Different Groups of People
Introduction of the aspects of creating efffective partnerships with culturally different targeted groups of people e.g. Indigenous, Vietnamese, Indonesians.
Topic 6: Creating Effective Partnerships with Age Different Groups of People
Introduction of the aspects of creating empowering partnerships with targeted groups of age different people e.g. young children, youth, and older people.
