Money Sense
Money Sense: Financial Literacy for Beginners is a practical approach to financial literacy and an introductory training program for youth and adults to assist their understanding of the basic principles and processes for money management within the context of their daily life.
The two-day program is for employees of government, business and community organizations and members of the community and can be customised for a specific organization. It includes the following modules:
Module 1: What is Money Sense?
Introduction to the meaning of money and behaviours about money.
Module 2: Introduction to Financial Literacy
Introduction to the difference between income and expenses, difference between asset and liability and meaning of financial statements.
Module 3: Planning for Money Management
Introduction to planning to change, learn and achieve goals for money management.
Module 4: Principles for Achieving Money Management
Introduction to principles for achieving money management such as earning, budgeting, saving, investing and donating money.
Module 5: Support for Money Management
Introduction to support for money management through self education and financial agencies.
Module 6: Plan for Effective Money Management
Introduction to development of a plan for effective money management.
